Die Boeing 747-8 ist eine Weiterentwicklung der bereits seit Jahrzehnten gebauten 747-Familie. Boeing setzt auf einen neuen Tragfläche und neue Triebwerke. Erstflug des Frachters war am 8. Februar 2010. Die Passagierversion wurde am 13. Februar 2011 offiziell präsentiert.
