Air Berlin offers new routes for winter schedule

The second largest German airline is offering several new services to attractive destinations in Italy, Spain and Austria this winter.

This winter is the first time that Air Berlin will be flying to Bari from three German airports (Cologne/Bonn, Munich, Stuttgart).

Another new service featuring in the winter timetable is the direct connection to Brindisi. Starting on 2nd November 2010, the non-stop flights between the Italian port and Munich will be taking off every Tuesday and Saturday.

Air Berlin passengers from Bavaria’s regional capital can look forward to several new services in winter 2010/11, because Air Berlin’s red and white jets will also be taking off for Olbia in Sardinia on two days of the week (Tuesdays and Saturdays).

From November 2010 until April 2011 there will also be direct flights to this Mediterranean island from Düsseldorf. Another new route offered by Air Berlin for the winter is from Berlin-Tegel to Catania, with flights departing every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Air Berlin will remain a dependable partner for flights to and from Spain even in winter. Improvements to the hub structure at the airport of Palma de Mallorca mean that Air Berlin can continue its expansion there and offer more direct flights between the Spanish mainland and Germany as well as Switzerland and Austria during the winter season.

From Stuttgart there will be four direct flights a week (Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) to Barcelona. The non-stop flights between Düsseldorf and Bilbao (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) as well as between Munich and Malaga (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) are also new to the winter schedule 2010/2011.

Furthermore, there will be more frequent flights to Faro in the Algarve this winter, with flights from Cologne/Bonn on Wednesdays and Sundays and from Hamburg on Saturdays. Another new feature for the winter is a direct flight from Palma de Mallorca to Amsterdam on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, which Air Berlin is has started up again for the first time since winter 2005/2006.

From winter 2010/11 Air Berlin will also be offering the following flights to Austria: There will be four flights a week from Hanover to Salzburg, departing on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The direct flights from Düsseldorf to Innsbruck and Klagenfurt are also new. Both services will operate three times a week in winter.

In addition, Air Berlin is increasing the frequency of its flights from Berlin to Vienna and Salzburg. There will be six flights to Vienna on Thursdays and Fridays instead of five, and four flights instead of three on Sundays. The number of flights from Berlin to Salzburg will be doubled to two services a day.

The number of flights from North Germany to Stuttgart is also being increased this winter. There will be an additional flight between Hanover and Stuttgart on Mondays, bringing the total to four. The services from Hamburg are also being increased by one additional flight from Mondays to Fridays. Passengers will now have a choice of six flights to and from Stuttgart instead of five.
