Diehl Aerosystems celebrates opening of Hungarian factory

Diehl Aerosystems today celebrated the official inauguration of its new Hungarian site in Nyírbátor. Diehl Aircabin Hungary was founded in 2011; since the beginning of 2012, production was successively built up.

So far, door and door frames for the Airbus A320 Family are manufactured in Nýirbátor right now. In the future, the site will supply these parts also for the Airbus long-range air-craft, as well as insulation packages for the A350XWB.

Right now, 70 employees work for Diehl in Nyírbátor, which is due to increase to 240 in 2015. Currently, 40 shipsets are leaving the site per day. Production is scheduled to increase to 400 shipsets per day by the end of 2013.

The set-up of Diehl Aerosystems‘ production site in Hungary serves the purpose of expanding capacity. This is required by the scheduled production rate ramp-up by the aircraft manufacturers, increasing the demand for sufficient number of parts from suppliers. Nýirbátor expands capacity for Diehl Aerosystems, and it does not relocate work packages from Germany elsewhere.
