easyJet celebrates ten-year Berlin anniversary

With an orange birthday cake and surprise promotions in the terminal, easyJet today celebrated the tenth anniversary of its first German base in Berlin.

Airport CEO Hartmut Mehdorn and Thomas Haagensen, Regional General Manager of easyJet Germany, together cut the cake and shared it out among passengers.

It all began with the arrival of a flight from Liverpool: the first aircraft in the striking orange-white livery landed at Schönefeld Airport on April 28, 2004. easyJet has continuously developed its network of destinations over the past ten years.

More than 30 million passengers have been carried to and from Berlin to date, and the positive trend continues. In terms of passenger volume, Berlin is the fifth largest city in the airline’s network and easyJet is the biggest airline at Schönefeld – with a market share of around 66 per cent.
