Eurofighters go to India for evaluation
Eurofighters from Luftwaffe wing 73 “Steinhoff” set off from Rostock/Laage on Monday destined for Bangalore. They will undergo a formal flight evaluation for the MMRCA competition.
The trials will be heavily supported by the German Air Force, who will provide both the aircraft and appropriate air and ground crews. The trails are taking place in Bangalore, over Jaisalmer in the Rajasthan desert under hot weather conditions and in the Leh area of Ladakh – Ladakh meaning "land of high passes" for high altitude testings.
The MMRCA (Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft) competition is for 126 aircraft for the Indian Air Force. Competition includes the Boeing F/A-18E/F, Dassault Rafale, Lockheed Martin F-16IN, RSK MiG MiG-35 and Saab Gripen IN.
