LHT gets landing gear overhaul contract for 777-300ER from Emirates
Emirates has contracted Lufthansa Technik to overhaul the landing gear of its Boeing 777-300ER fleet. The agreement has been signed for ten years on a non-exclusive basis.
Lufthansa Technik's landing gear business unit in Hayes, near London, United Kingdom will perform all necessary maintenance, repair and overhaul works on the 777-300ER landing gears.
"Emirates being the 777-300ER worldwide fleet leader, our requirements for landing gear overhauls are strategic as they become due every ten years on each aircraft in accordance with the maintenance program. In order to maintain the highest levels of reliability and quality for our operations, we expect our suppliers to provide the most robust supply chain solutions. Following our successful experience with Lufthansa Technik on previous programs, we are confident that this new agreement will deliver on these goals," said Adel Al Redha, Emirates' Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.
Walter Heerdt, Lufthansa Technik's Senior Vice President Marketing & Sales said: "In 2005 we signed the first landing gear contract with Emirates to provide services for the 21 Emirates' 777 "classic" aircraft (-200/-200ER/-300). Then in 2010 we also signed another overhaul service contract for the center landing gears of the Emirates' A340-300 fleet.”
