Lufthansa to resume services to Bogotá

With the introduction of the 2010/2011 winter timetable on 31 October, Lufthansa will resume flights to the Colombian capital Bogotá. Five flights per week are scheduled between Frankfurt and Bogotá, operated by an Airbus A340.

Lufthansa served Bogotá, which is situated in the northwestern corner of South America, until 2002. Once this service is resumed, Lufthansa will offer its customers a total of 60 flights per week to four destinations in South America.

“Colombia is one of the growth regions in South America,” says Dr. Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht, Lufthansa’s Head of Hub Management Frankfurt. “This winter, Bogotá will become the fourth destination in South America after Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Caracas to be served non-stop by Lufthansa from Frankfurt.”
