airberlin: Over 80 destinations nonstop from Düsseldorf

With new routes, more frequent flights and additional long-haul flights, airberlin is expanding the flights it offers from its hub in Düsseldorf.

At the start of the summer flight schedule, Germany's second largest airline will add the Italian destinations of Verona, Florence and Cagliari in Sardinia to its flight programme.

In addition, there will be new flights to the Austrian cities of Innsbruck and Klagenfurt, the Channel Island of Guernsey, and Rijeka in Croatia. airberlin is thus expanding its holiday offerings from the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia to over 80 destinations that can be reached non-stop.

airberlin will also increase the number of seats on long-haul routes promptly at the start of the summer holidays. The airline will offer an additional North American flight per week on the connections to San Francisco, Fort Myers, Los Angeles and Vancouver. The additional frequent flights will be flown with an A330-200 type airplane. This will increase the number of long-haul planes stationed in Düsseldorf from six to seven.

airberlin is optimizing its flight offerings from Düsseldorf to Barcelona especially for business travellers. During the week, there will now be three daily flights to the capital of Catalonia instead of two.

airberlin now offers the non-stop flight between Moscow and Düsseldorf twice daily, which makes day trips possible. In combination with optimized plane rotations, the number of transfer-connections offered has increased by 18 %, which will sustainably strengthen the Düsseldorf hub.

To further increase comfort for frequent fliers and business travellers, airberlin will build an exclusive waiting area in terminal B of Düsseldorf International Airport during the spring.
