Embraer 195 order from Lufthansa confirmed
Embraer and Deutsche Lufthansa AG signed a contract for another eight new Embraer 195 jets. The new aircraft will be operated within the Lufthansa Regional family serving national and European destinations.
The total value of the deal, at list price, is US$ 338 million, based on January 2010 economic conditions. Deliveries of the additional eight aircraft are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2012.
The Lufthansa Group had previously ordered a mixed fleet of 30 Embraer 190s and Embrer 195s for its regional fleet, in June 2007, most of which are already in service.
Embraer E-Jets are already in service with Lufthansa Regional partner carriers Augsburg Airways, Air Dolomiti and CityLine. Upon delivery of the eight Embraer 195s, 38 E-Jets will be flying for Lufthansa Regional, making it the operating entity with the largest fleet of E-Jets in continental Europe.
